Why is organic cotton so much better?

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that lessen the impact on our environment.

The main benefit of Organic Cotton is the fact that these crops are not treated with insecticides, pesticides, herbicides and GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms).

Organic cotton farming also maintains soil fertility, builds biodiversity and uses far less water than conventionally grown cotton.

Conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop in the world. It is estimated that each year conventional cotton producers use as much as 25 percent of the world’s insecticides and more than 10 percent of the world’s pesticides. This is an incredible amount for one just one crop.

These toxins are harmful to the farmers and workers, us the consumer and our environments. However, less than one percent of all cotton grown is organic.

We believe that the fashion industry can and must do better to protect the environment for future generations.
